Buzzing for Projekt Klatschmohnwiese
At Spread Group, we collaborated with Studio 100 Media to launch the Maya the Bee X Spreadshirt collection to educate on environmental conservation and inspire children to preserve biodiversity through “let’s make it buzz and hum together”.

At Spread Group, we are thrilled to see the fruits of our collaboration with licensing partner Studio 100 Media. Beginning with the launch of the Maya the Bee X Spreadshirt collection in 2021, we have taken a proactive approach to educating our employees and the wider community about the importance of environmental conservation. As a part of Studio 100 Media’s Projekt Klatschmohnwiese (Project Poppy Meadow), our goal is to educate children on the significance of insects and inspire them to take action in preserving biodiversity through the motto “let’s make it buzz and hum together”.
Under the leadership of Licensing Success Manager Annina Vettermann, our team at Spread Group initiated two planting drives. On National Plant a Flower Day, we transformed our rooftop terrace into an insect-friendly habitat, and on World Bee Day, we continued the effort by distributing seed bags of wildflowers native to the region to all 500 Spreadsters working in Leipzig. The challenge was to create the best bee paradise on balconies or in green spaces. The winners will be announced at the end of the summer and will receive a special surprise from Maya the Bee and her partners.

On National Plant A Flower Day, we decided to take action and create a new home for our beloved pollinators. In honour of this special day, we planted a colourful flower mixture in a designated area, with the hope that it will provide a bountiful food source for bees, bumblebees, and other insects in the coming months.
We are proud to be partnering with the “Projekt Klatschmohnwiese” and @Studio100 to support new habitats for insects, as they are facing increasing challenges finding food sources in our country.
For all the bee supporters out there, we have also developed a special collection in collaboration with Maya the Bee, which can be found here: https://bit.ly/3MfPiC1. This collection is a fun and easy way to get involved and help protect these important creatures.
Whether you have a garden or just a balcony, anyone can play a part in protecting and preserving the environment by choosing the right plants. Maja, the beloved bee character, has many more tips and suggestions for environmentally-conscious individuals on her website: www.diebienemaja-bienenschutz.de. We encourage everyone to take a look and learn more about how they can make a difference for our pollinators and the planet as a whole.
